A Family Reunited: Judith's Story
When Judith went to prison, the consequences reached far beyond the prison walls. Her children, Brevian and Darwin, were left without the stability and care of their mother, and the family they had known was broken apart.
Building Families For Tomorrow came alongside Judith and her children with a goal that extended beyond helping her successfully leave prison. The goal was to help the entire family rebuild.
After her release, Judith joined BFFT, where she received counseling, biblical discipleship, life-skills training, and vocational education. She chose baking as her trade and began developing the practical skills she would need to earn an income and provide for her children.
Just as important was the work of rebuilding her family. Judith was reunited with Brevian and Darwin, and together they began creating a new life. In time, the children's father also returned to the family.
With training and continued support from BFFT, Judith began using her baking skills to generate income and provide greater stability for her children. Meanwhile, Brevian and Darwin were able to continue their education. Brevian has since completed high school—an important milestone for a family whose future once seemed so uncertain.
Today, Judith's story is about much more than a woman successfully returning home after prison. It is about a family brought back together and given the opportunity to begin again.
Judith's journey demonstrates what Building Families For Tomorrow means by restoring the whole family. When a mother is equipped to rebuild her life and her children are supported alongside her, the impact can reach far beyond one second chance—it can change the future of an entire family.
